New Post

So unfortunetly i haven't gotten as far as im suppose to in Bluebeard. im only up to chapter 12. The widow Berman seems really annoying to me and seems to be annoying Rabo in some cases too. like when she stands over him as he types and asks him questions of why he writes the way he does. And how she constantly asks him for the keys to the barn. Even though i havent read this part yet, we talked about it in class on tuesday about how he goes to New York and comes back and realizes the widow Berman remodeled the foyer, and why he got so angry. so i looked up the definition of the word "kitsch" and this is what it said. "kitsch is a form of art that is considered an inferior tastless copy of an extant style of art or a worthless immitation of art of recognized value." could a comic book fall under kitsch? because the way i see it, kitsch stand for art that is just produced almost exactly the same over and over. or art that isn't necessarily original. I searched the art work of Thomas Kinkade. I guess i can see why his artwork would be considered as "kitsch" all his art pieces are of nice houses in the middle of a forest area. mostly something you might see in a fairytale book.
