It could simply be explained by the mataphor "I see the cup half full not half empty"
To me it's beyond the imperfections
To take in everything around you and rejoice that you are alive
Accept people for who they are eventhough sometimes it's not pretty
Rejection doesn't hurt so bad when you think about what's to come.
Love becomes a beautiful a beautiful connection between one another
It vastly spreads and conquers all
Love, yes love
To hear that very word and to know it's intended for tou to raise your spirit
With love in a person's heart there's no stopping them
They'll walk the distance, fight the fight and won't give up
In my heart you'll find a lot of people but even so there's an empty slot...
But of course my heart is half full.
Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 102 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (and to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum. This poem was inspired by my belief in staying positive in life. There are people who see everything in a negative light (half empty) and then there are people like myself who decide to see the positive light in everything (half full). My belief in staying positive is done by having love for yourself and others. My inspiration for this way of thinking and therfore my poem is my faith and spirituality. I firmly beieve that this is an artform. Paintings, music and even sports can be considered art that provoke emotion and thought. That is what spirituality and faith do for me and its my artform.
