Between Bluebeard the fairy tale and Bluebeard the novel, I see some resemblances. The huge castle, the farm, properties, and the wealth. We can compare Rabo's mother with Bluebeard's young wife. Being, the murdered women in the room, with the massacred people Rabo's mother hid with during the war. Other similarities can be combined, for example both stories are fiction, and both mention wars.
Most of the rest is different. The time lines are not the same. The fairy tail takes place in France.
I did enjoy reading the fairy tale version of Bluebeard, though. It had every thing a good story should have. Love, war, suspense, horror, etc.. I loved the ending where the brothers come in, kill Bluebeard, end of story! Fantastic!
