What is the significance of this story to the novel? (Why is the book called Bluebeard?)

  1. This is the only story i can remember that doesnt end with " happily ever after"
    The book we're reading has noting to do with this fairy tale, so why the title ?

  2. i think the the book was titled bluebeard because like in the fairytale bluebeard hides his dead wives in a room. so thats his biggest secret. so like in bluebeard the novel. Rabo also is hiding something of a big significance out in his barn so he kind of compares that situation of when polly madison keeps insisting of finding out what's behind the barn doors to "bluebeard" the fairytale
