A Raisin in the Sun

            I think that the differences in the form of a story, such as a play or a novel make stories completely different. I think that if you were to write the same story twice, once in the form of a novel and another in the form of a play the reader would get a different experience through reading each one. In novels the reader has to imagine more of the story and inference things such as how characters feel based on what you know they’re thinking. In plays it can be argued that its subtlety easier to know how the characters feel and easier to focus on main themes in the story based on what the stage directions say.

On Tuesday we split up into different groups and each group was responsible for different parts of a play. My group was responsible for the Actors in the play and choosing a scene in the book to act out for the class, we decided on the scene on pages 70-75 which depicted the scene where there was great conflict in the family regarding Walter, Ruth and Mama.
