Hadara Bar Nadav Reading

I enjoyed Hadara Bar Nadav's visit today. Seeing her in person and hearing her story and and insight into the inspiration behind her work, gave me a way better understanding of her poems. Getting to hear the personal details behind the poems was great. Birds of Prey being a love poem, who would have thought! Reading her poems before, I would seek a moral or underlying point, however today, she made me realize something huge about poetry. Hadara reflected back on what a past teacher said to her class, that if you want a plot, write a story. Poetry is about the words and the way they are written in that piece of work. Hearing this gave me a whole different perception on poetry, and I doubt I will ever read it the same.
